Paris Hilton to choose new ‘best friend forever’ on MTV
NEW YORK — Paris Hilton is looking for a new best friend.
Hilton will choose from 20 potential confidantes on an MTV reality series, tentatively titled “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF,” premiering later this year, the network announced Thursday. “BFF” is an abbreviation for “Best Friends Forever.”Production is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles at the end of May, MTV said. The contestants will live together in a house — drama! — and try to prove themselves worthy in the areas of loyalty, endurance and “girl politics.”

Former ‘American Idol’ invited to Opry
NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Carrie Underwood will become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry after she was invited Saturday to join the long-running country music show. Randy Travis extended the invitation as Underwood finished “I Told You So,” a Travis song that Underwood recorded on her latest album.
Her official induction will be May 10.
